【明報專訊】27歲的張偉賢自小住在由豬欄改建的寮屋，在垃圾堆中執拾舊玩具、聽母親講歷險故事過日子。奇趣故事令他對世界充滿好奇，夢想可以搭飛機看世界，想不到中五時冒昧「敲門」，獲校長籌款5000元助他圓夢；大學時邀請探險家李樂詩代寫推薦信，更成功爭取到贊助，第一次踏足南極。張偉賢現時是全球唯一的華裔極地探險領隊，已在多國舉行超過50場講座，希望藉着相片和文字，讓像他一樣背景的學生可認識世界、認識大自然。張偉賢生命中獲很多人幫助，他亦希望回饋社會，2009年與朋友成立了非牟利機構Ecobus「生態巴士」，藉此推動本地青少年及兒童的生態教育，讓他們學懂欣賞及愛護大自然。
星島日報2013-10-29 極地並非一般人的旅遊之選，但基層家庭出身的張偉賢卻踏足南極無數次。在浸會大學體育系一級榮譽畢業的他，除屢獲大學獎助學金到多國實習外，更被獲選到南極考察，並出書分享南極體驗。由於畢業後半年在港找不到合適的工作，激發他往外闖，結果獲聘成為目前唯一擔任南北極探險導賞員的中國人，個人終極目標是到太空漫遊。記者 鍾碧琪
